HAMBURG, Germany, Feb. 11, 2010 – Pratt & Whitney announced that it has reached an agreement with Nayak Aircraft Services GmbH & Co.
Under a five-year agreement, Nayak becomes a Designated Service Provider for Pratt & Whitney’s successful EcoPower engine wash service. Nayak will perform washes in Cologne, Germany, and other airports in the region.

“This agreement gives operators that fly into Europe a new, advanced option for engine wash services,” said Anupam Bhargava, general manager, Pratt & Whitney Line Maintenance Services. “We are excited to demonstrate how our patented system and processes keep engines on wing for up to 18 months longer for customers, and helps them to operate in a much more efficient and environmentally friendly manner. We look forward to a successful collaboration with Nayak. ”

Nayak Aircraft Services is one of the largest airline-independent provider of aircraft maintenance in Europe. Nayak provides services for more than 60 airlines at more than 25 European airports and is growing, with a network of stations in Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Finland, Poland, Spain and Ireland. Nayak holds an impressive number of aircraft licenses, which enables them to perform both line and base maintenance on almost all types of regional and single aisle aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney's exclusive EcoPower engine wash system reduces fuel burn by as much as 1.2 percent, eliminating approximately three pounds of carbon dioxide emissions for every pound of fuel saved. By decreasing engine gas temperature, the EcoPower engine wash service also increases the amount of time an engine can stay on wing. The EcoPower service, offered through the Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners network, uses a closed-loop system with pure, atomized water to wash aircraft engines, avoiding potential contaminant runoff. The system is more effective and much faster than traditional engine washing processes.

During an award ceremony in Amsterdam NAYAK Aircraft Service Netherlands has been rewarded with a first prize named the Golden Gazelle for being the fastest growing company in the region Noord Holland in the Netherlands.

In the years 2006 until and including 2008 NAYAK has grown almost 550%. Not only did NAYAK win the first prize for the region, but they have earned a third price on a national level as well.

In 2001 the company Celsius Aviocomp was taken over by the German company Nayak Aircraft Service GmbH & Co. KG. Two managers were given the challenge to build a company in the midst of a very competitive environment. With this task they were assigned as Managing Director of an aircraft maintenance company at Schiphol. From that moment on Patrick Morcus and Luuk Houting reigned the Dutch company, and with success. By guaranteeing a high quality level and service commitment they managed to get the attention of several airlines and conquered their position at Schiphol Airport.

An important development occurs in 2005 when NAYAK becomes responsible for the maintenance of 14 Fokker 50 aircraft of KLM Cityhopper. This new contract demands a severe increase of employees to get the job done. Not only does NAYAK offer KLM Cityhopper technical support, they also provide the supporting activities like purchasing, planning and work preparation.

The quality which is delivered by NAYAK has its effect on the daily operation of KLM Cityhopper. The results made, as well as the mutual cooperation between the two companies lead to a new contract in 2008. Nayak Aircraft Services gets the care for the maintenance of the complete fleet of 45 aircraft of KLM Cityhopper. The fleet has now been extended with Embraer 190 aircraft which replace the Fokker 50 and Fokker 100 aircraft. Besides the organizational consequences for the company this also results in a second growth spurt of the number of employees.

At this moment Nayak Aircraft Services has grown to a company of 256 employees and is now the largest independent aircraft maintenance company in the Netherlands. She has a market share of 35% at Schiphol. Besides this they have stations at Helsinki (Finland), Warsaw (Poland), Palma de Mallorca (Spain) and Dublin (Ireland). Besides KLM Cityhopper, Nayak has contracts with 46 airlines of which KLM, Easyjet, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Air Berlin, British Airways, NetJets, TuiFly, Swiss, Thomas Cook, and many more.

Nayak Aircraft Services is a financially healthy company, which has faced the recession by taking hard and fast measures. Within aviation the effects of the economic crisis are visible, but because of this decisive acting the company is not hampered by this situation. In 2010 the company will focus on quality control at Schiphol and the development of new stations in Europe.
