49 YEARS OF KNOW-HOW

Nayak Aircraft Service was founded 1974, as a subsidiary of BAT-Air, for aircraft maintenance, the main areas being Rockwell Commander and Metroliner. In 1986 Nayak was taken over by NFD – Nürnberger Flugdienst. Nayak then expanded its activities to the NFD ATR fleet. At that time the company employed about 70 people. Due to the joint venture agreement between NFD and Air Europe, Nayak carried the sole responsibility for the maintenance of two B757 aircraft. Since this time Nayak has continually expanded its licenses.

In 1993 both NFD and Nayak were taken over by RFG, Dortmund. The joined companies were then renamed to Eurowings. Nayak was a major partner for the aircraft maintenance of Eurowings and was leading in the introduction of jets to the fleet. During this period Nayak expanded its business into the Line Maintenance area.

In 2000 a Management-Buy-Out of Nayak Aircraft Service GmbH & Co.KG (with about 100 employees) was executed by Herbert Busch and German Larrabe and the creation of Nayak Verwaltungs GmbH as a Holding Company was established. In 2001 a take Over of Celsius Aviocomp was done, and renamed as Nayak Aircraft Service Netherlands B.V. (the company being established with 40 employees). In 2005 the foundation of Nayak Aircraft Services Italy Srl was performed, and Nayak Aircraft Services became a German, Dutch and Italian company, growing its business through the home based fleet support of KLM Cityhopper in Amsterdam and Easyjet in Milan to about 600 employees.

After 2008, Nayak started to look into an expansion in Europe. During 2009 and 2010 respectively, Nayak gained stations in Poland and Finland, followed by the establishment of its first station outside Europe, in the Russian Federation. As the task load grew, Nayak established its ERP system AMOS and became the first ever MRO to become a member of the Boeing Gold Care project in 2011. 2013 saw the opening of Nayak’s French, Danish and Swedish branch, followed by the Czech and Turkish branch in 2015 and the Portuguese branch in 2016.

In 2017 Nayak was bought by a Group of private equity investors and during the beginning of 2018, Nayak LM Germany took over the former Air Berlin. This included the activities of the former Air Berlin Technik and trainings with its stations in Dusseldorf and Berlin (including more than 200 employees and a hangar at DUS airport).

During 2019, Nayak opened its first stations in Spain and Austria and in 2020 its first stations in Switzerland and Slovakia. During the Covid crisis of 2020 Nayak provided great assistance to Cargo operators and 2021 saw the establishment of Yellow Technic: Nayak’s partnership with Vueling.

Today Nayak offers aircraft maintenance services in Europe for over 210 different customers:

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
